How I went from a corporate job to living my dream life
I knew when I really wanted to get out of my corporate job. At that time, I knew that I needed to create a business that I loved, otherwise it wouldn’t work.
It needed to provide enough income for me to be able to replace my corporate income. Eventually, I wanted Paul, my partner, to work with me as well, so we had to replace both of our incomes.
Then, we considered all of the steps that we would need to take to be able to create a business that we not only loved, but that would pay us well to support our lifestyle.
We became obsessed with creating the business that we knew we needed to support that lifestyle, and every day we took steps towards those goals.
My tips for reaching your dream life
First, you need to be obsessed with your dream!
Then you have to ask yourself if you are taking steps to be able to make that happen.
For example, if you are choosing to go out partying every weekend or if you have a full-time job and, after you come home from work and think “I’m not feeling it tonight, I’m just going to sit on the couch and watch TV cause I’m so tired”, you’re not really serious about achieving your dream.
Instead of doing that, start thinking about all the little steps that you can take to create the dream life that you want.
Consider all the downtime you have, use that time to educate yourself and take steps to move towards your new life. It’s a process that you need to be following everyday.
This doesn’t mean you have to completely give up your life but have a look at how much time you’re spending on things that aren’t going to help you achieve your goal and consider using more of that time to work on your business.
You never know where you could be in 12 months time.
